Are you looking for people interested in constructing domestic and community digesters in Kenya?

I am sure that there is a big potential for this.

Do you have skills locally in building simple biogas digesters? If not, would the first step be to try to find funding to assist you in getting an expert from elsewhere in Kenya, another successful African project or if necessary further abroad such as from some of the schemes in India or China to come and talk to your community. I am just wondering whether the Methane to Markets intiative, might if approached, be able to help with some funding for that...

Dear Steve,

Thanks for replying to my discussion.
I'm talking about people who are interested in Constructing domestic and community digesters in Kenya.
I can partner with such people and market the Business on Commission basis.
I hold a degree in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology which gives me a lot of understanding on Biog as production.

I've not had an opportunity to oversee installation of any digester(s).Apart from my professional insight i am working as a Chief Advisor -Renewable Energies for an international school.

I would like to go into this business full time .The challenge has been Funds.I would like to meet any person in your networks who got the Funds and willing to invest in this area.I am well networked and we could penetrate the market without much struggle.

Regards.
Cathy.

Cathy,

It would be interesting to know how you have dealt with production of bio-gas from human waste. Particularly the amount of gas per individual from the point of view of production cost. For example can a student generate enough bio-gas to cook his/her own food? How much human waste is required to produce 1.0 cubic mt of bio-gas? How long will it take? How many students? Is it economical in that case? do you have write ups, examples and analysis for Kenya?

Regards

Fred
