UK Friends of Biogas

Friends of biogas, for those interested in and promoting biogas in the UK

dear all
application of biogas reduce the use of fossil fuels.
such reduced amount equivalent biogas can be traded.
this is carbon trading.
a developing country can earn and also can reduce green house gas.
ultimately help to save our beauty world.....

Hi All and Ajay,
Your statement is right, but unfortuneatly trading Carbon ( by means of reducing the GHG)
is limited to big producers of CO2.
Companies avoiding little amounts of CO2 ( less than 100.000 tons/yr) seem to be excluded (in Europe) of the trading system. I mean people or companies making biogas out of agricultural organic waste and manures are mainly small to very small producers . But their is indeed, if many small are combined, together also much potential to earn some alternative income....

Carbon Trading in Europe applies to big companies and high energy users who either have to reduce their emissions to target levels set by their governments or buy carbon credits from the developing nations which participate in the EU CER Scheme, The scheme was the result of the Kyoto Summit and now needs extending, and is being negotiated..

I was involved as project manager in this project in South Africa in CDM for landfill gas.

hi our friends
i agree with you, our friend johan. i think the processes of assessment of cdm is a little complecated. it's not beneficial for small amount of green energy producers. not only this, financial burden in initial stage is also significant. but i hope it may be simplified in future....

i want to thank steve working in this field. ....
it's very important for the reduction of greenhouse gases globally...

carbon trading.....
is damned pitty only for big CO2 producers...impemented by big countries governments.....
I have no knowledge how small CO2 saving companies ( renewable energy producers) would be able to trade carbon..??? ( If you know how actually.... plse tell me the way to realise this....)

This is easy said.
But what is the practice...? None at all existing.
Why excluding small CO2-savers.....???? Many small make though a big.... And this little more income
can mean a lot for many small prodcuers.
This is really a shame and not at all according democratic rules ( human rights),
nor corperate governance of everybodies responsibility and existence....!!!
